Humans and Luxury 7inch Cover Suggestions

Welcome to the discussion on what we all should prepare for regarding the look of the 7inch recording entitled "Humans and Luxury"

Now  that we have had a little bit of a chat about it  we here are interested in suggesting a few more ideas. The first of which are invloved around the issue of detail. Do you think that it would be possible to screen print these images without resorting to super high tech digital  printing methods? They can be just in one colour with a contrasting lighter colour background.

Remember to look at these images in a new window at full size to really gain an appreciation of the business involved.

Otherwise we have a super high rez digital image ready for you which we can show you, because if you were, to decide to use digital printing then we would try to go for super radient bright multicoloured incandescence.

Below are a collection of highly compressed images, which still maintain a good human-viewable fidelity.
The First Image seen Below, is the greyscale master Image of the current high fidelity front cover concept.

Clearly the colour 'Grey' is far to reminicent of concrete to be an acceptable colour to use.
However we are faced with the issue of a single colour print, this means that we need to use an interesting coloured paper stock to offset and enhance the colour of the main image.

The following images are a fanciful collection of concept designs, which imply a single colour print on coloured paper. They however would, if they were to be reproduced accurately need more than one colour, so just remember that they are ideas not rules.

or perhaps this design

Remember that we are not meaning to suggest any preference with the order of display.
All of the colour combinations here have been selected as good.

Humans and Luxury suggestion red and green

Perhaps it is more yellow than green,

Humans and Luxury Really Red

This one above here in the red and green is a fairly good example of a bleed sort of mushy look in two colours.
GGE are not opposed to this sort of thing either, although ideally we would still like the resolution of detail to be more similar to the original greyscale image as it becomes difficult to read the title, which is already slightly obscured anyway.

Now here it is again in a sepia.

Which seems fairly orange on this monitor.
How about yours?

Humans and Luxury Magenta

So to get a clear idea of where we are going to.
We really like strong colour contrast and really bright colours.
We also like detail. Somewhere in between we have the cover.

We also now have designs for the back cover, which we assume will have to be printed as well.
That is just as simple and will be dictated by the colour selections of the front cover and the card stock used.

If you want to look at any of the images larger, just download them or open them separately in a new window or tab, they are actually about 1200 by 1200 pixels, and show quite a lot of detail.

The originals are totally uncompressed, and we can send them to you anytime.

Out of all of this what do you like, and what sort of thing do you think you can do easily.
Please get your expert priter people persons to have a big look and a little think and to email GGE with any detailed suggestions, and we will send out for take away food!
